Day 1

Arrival in Montevideo

Upon arrival at Montevideo Airport, you will pick up your rental vehicle. It is in total freedom that you will be able to discover the charms of Montevideo.

Day 2

Day at leisure in Montevideo

Day at leisure in Montevideo. According to your desires, take advantage of this day to visit Montevideo, the surrounding vineyards and beaches. The capital has a lot to offer you, walk through the heart of Montevideo and live to the rhythm of the Montevideo people. Or visit a Bodega and test the famous “Tannat” grape variety. A must in Uruguay.

Day 3

Towards Colonia del Sacramento

Direction Colonia del Sacramento. Afternoon free to visit the historic city of Colonia del Sacramento. Founded by the Portuguese Empire more than 300 years ago, Colonia was the “bone of contention” between Portugal and Spain until 1777, when the Treaty of San Ildefonso left Colonia in the hands of the Kingdom of Spain. You can visit Calle de los Suspiros, Iglesia del Santísimo Sacramento, Bastión de San Pedro, Polvorín, the lighthouse, the Spanish and Portuguese museum, the Azulejo museum, etc.

Day 4

On the way to Paysandú, passing by Mercedes and Fray Bentos

Heading north. Follow the Río de la Plata, passing through Nueva Palmira to reach the city of Mercedes located on the edges of the Río Negro. Then, we invite you to visit the beautiful city of Fray Bentos. In particular, we recommend visiting the old industrial district of Anglo, declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in July 2015. It is the place where the famous Corned Beef cans that fed the Allied troops during the 2nd World War were produced.

When you arrive in Paysandú, you will be able to enjoy the thermal waters. We invite you to walk along the port and the promenade. Around Paysandú, discover the Queguay waterfall, walk through the Rincón de Pérez forest or visit the Cueva del Tigre, the largest cave in Uruguay inhabited by a colony of bats.

Day 5

We invite you to walk along the harbour and the Rambla. Around Paysandú, discover the Queguay waterfall, stroll through the Rincón de Pérez forest or visit the Cueva del Tigre, Uruguay’s largest cave inhabited by a bat colony.

Day 6

Let’s head to Salto

It is the city of the Interior with the greatest number of National Historical Monuments such as the Port Area, the Larrañaga Theatre, the Museum of Plastic Arts, or the traditional 18 de Julio Market. The thermal waters are without a doubt, its main attraction at international level. To the north of the city, 3 kilometers away, we invite you to visit Salto Chico, an area of small waterfalls, beaches, fishing, nature observation and recreation.

We also recommend visiting the binational hydroelectric plant of Salto Grande which is a dam and hydroelectric plant located in the middle course of the Uruguay River, about 15 km north of the cities of Salto (Uruguay) and Concordia (province of Entre Ríos, Argentina).

Day 8

Day 9

Flores and its Ecopark

Take the route to the department of Flores where the Ecoparque Rodlfo Talice is located. It has an area of 75 hectares, subdivided into several spaces converted into a habitat where about 1400 animals of various species are distributed. The conservation of the green spaces and the extreme care of the animals are a fundamental part of the prestige acquired by this Reserve, cataloged as the most distinguished in Uruguay.

You will continue your way to an Estancia to enjoy traditional meals and take advantage of the tranquility of the place to rest. You can go hiking, horseback riding or participate in the daily tasks of your hosts if you wish.
