Colonia is the department located in the southwest of the country, on the coast where the Paraná and Uruguay rivers flow. Located less than 60 km from the center of Buenos Aires, this department enjoys a privileged geographical position, being a welcoming option for the vast majority of those living in the nearby shore. It is often visited along the way and welcomes the largest number of tourists on weekends or at Easter. It is important to note that it is the leading department at the national level in terms of milk production and exports all its products worldwide, including cheese, butter, yoghurt, dulce de leche and cream.
