Itinerary
You will be met upon arrival at Montevideo Airport. A driver will drive you to your hotel in the city centre. Take advantage of the afternoon to rest and walk the streets of the capital to capture the atmosphere and warmth of the capital.

We invite you to spend a day and a night in the Uruguayan countryside, and thus to know better the course of the agricultural activities, the habits and the Uruguayan traditions. Various activities are offered, such as a horseback ride to the Sierra de Mahoma, a bicycle tour through the countryside or a tasting of the excellent wine produced by the establishment.

Heading north. You will follow the Uruguay River. We offer you a first stop in the city of Carmelo. Among the places not to be missed, we recommend the pretty central square and the famous swing bridge, a real work of modern engineering. Camelo and its region are extremely well known for their Bodegas and the famous wines they produce.
You will continue your route to the north, go through Nueva Palmira to reach Mercedes. As you walk through its neighborhoods, you can enjoy a varied beauty of architectural styles. But the biggest asset is its beautiful boulevard. Feel free to use it to walk along the river.

On the way to Paysandú we invite you to stop over in the beautiful city of Fray Bentos. In particular, we recommend a visit to the former industrial district of Anglo, which was listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in July 2015. “Frigorifico Anglo del Uruguay” was one of Uruguay’s main agro-industries during the 20th century and one of the most important meat processing plants (horns beef) in South America.
When you arrive in Paysandú, don’t miss the hot springs. Stroll around the harbour and on the rambla. In the surroundings of Paysandú, discover the Queguay waterfall, walk in the Rincon de Perez forest or visit the Cueva del Tigre cave where vampire bats live.

As you walk through the streets of Tacuarembó you will see sculptures and wall paintings in the open air. This city is a real open-air museum. This great cultural richness is combined with its wide range of museums. Among them, the most famous, Carlos Gardel. We also invite you to visit the Eden Valley located 25 kilometres from Tacuarembó. Take advantage of the landscapes and the valley setting to take beautiful walks in the area.
A little further south,Pasos de los Toros preserves the natural charm of the old Hum des Charrúas river. The Rincón del Bonete reservoir, with its immense lake, offers an ideal destination for relaxation. Freshwater beaches are part of the area’s attractions. The city gave birth to the famous writer Mario Benedetti. Its visit is a must for lovers of culture, nautical sports and fishing.

At the confluence of the Olimar River and Yerbal Creek, you will find the peaceful Treinta y Tres. In the surrounding area you will find hidden natural treasures such as the Quebrada de los Cuervos, considered the first national protected area in the country. Also, discover Laguna Merín, one of the largest freshwater reserves and one of Uruguay’s main ecological treasures.
You will continue your road towards the Estancia to restore you and rest. You can hike, ride and participate in the daily tasks of your hosts if you wish. You will be accommodated in full board and will taste local products prepared by your host according to Uruguayan customs.

The charming Cabo Polonio Ecological Reserve is located on the Atlantic coast of Uruguay, in the Rocha department. This protected peninsula because of its priority ecosystem is one of the largest reserves of sea lions in South America. You will go on an excursion to discover the natural and hilly landscapes of the region of Minas. We invite you to stop in the pretty seaside resort of Piriápolis. It offers a magnificent waterfront. In summer it is a very popular family seaside resort we invite you to walk along its pretty rambla. If you feel like it, climb to the top of the Cerro Antonio and enjoy a superb panoramic view of Piriápolis.
In Punta del Este, we recommend a boat trip to Sea Lions Island. This nature reserve has more than 250,000 mammals. If the weather allows it and with the agreement of the captain you can jump off the boat and swim with them sea lions. An unforgettable and safe experience that we recommend for young and old alike.
