Treinta y Tres and its capital of the same name is one of Uruguay’s departments. Located in the east of the country, bordered to the north by Cerro Largo, to the east by the Laguna Merín that separates it from Brazil to the south by Lavalleja and Rocha, and to the west by Florida and Durazno. With almost 50,000 inhabitants, it is the second least populated department in the country.
