Day 1

Arrival in Montevideo

You will be met upon arrival at Montevideo Airport. A driver will drive you to your hotel in the city centre. Take advantage of the afternoon to rest and walk the streets of the capital to capture the atmosphere and warmth of the capital.

Day 2

Stay with the Gauchos in a rural Estancia

We invite you to spend a day and a night in the Uruguayan countryside, and thus to know better the course of the agricultural activities, the habits and the Uruguayan traditions. Various activities are offered such as a horseback ride to the Sierra de Mahoma.

Day 3

Visit of Colonia del Sacramento

Let’s head to Colonia del Sacramento. We offer you the opportunity to visit this historic city and steeped in history with a guide who will deliver all these secrets. This charming city can be visited by foot.

Day 4

Along the Río Uruguay

You will head north, following the Río Uruguay. We offer you a first stop in the city of Carmelo. Among the places not to be missed, we recommend the pretty central square and the famous swing bridge, a real work of modern engineering. Camelo and its region are extremely well known for their Bodegas and the famous wines they produce.




You will continue your route to the north, go through Nueva Palmira to reach Mercedes. As you walk through its neighborhoods, you will enjoy a varied beauty of architectural styles. But the major asset is its beautiful rambla. Feel free to use it to walk along the river.

Day 5

In the direction of Paysandú

On the way to Paysandú we invite you to stop over in the beautiful city of Fray Bentos. In particular, we recommend a visit to the former industrial district of Anglo, which was listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in July 2015. Frigorifico Anglo del Uruguay” was one of Uruguay’s main agro-industries during the 20th century and one of the most important meat processing plants (horns beef) in South America. 


When you arrive in Paysandú, don’t miss the hot springs. Stroll around the harbour and on the rambla. In the surroundings of Paysandú, discover the Queguay waterfall, walk in the Rincon de Perez forest or visit the Cueva del Tigre cave where vampire bats live.

Day 6

Visit of Tacuarembó: the open-air museum

As you walk through the streets of Tacuarembó you will see sculptures and wall paintings in the open air. This city is a real open-air museum. This great cultural richness is combined with its wide range of museums. Among them, the most famous, Carlos Gardel. We also invite you to visit the Eden Valley located 25 kilometres from Tacuarembó. Take advantage of the landscapes and the valley setting to take beautiful walks in the area.

A little further south, Pasos de los Toros preserves the natural charm of the old Hum des Charrúas river. The Rincón del Bonete dam, with its immense lake, offers an ideal destination for relaxation. Freshwater beaches are part of the area’s attractions. The city gave birth to the famous writer Mario Benedetti. Its visit is a must for lovers of culture, water sports and fishing.

Day 7

In the heart of the Uruguayan countryside in Treinta y Tres

At the confluence of the Olimar River and Yerbal Creek, you will find the peaceful Treinta y Tres. Around Treinta y Tres, there are hidden natural treasures such as the first national protected area of the country, Quebrada de los Cuervos. Also, discover Laguna Merín, one of the largest freshwater reserves and one of Uruguay’s main ecological treasures.


You will continue your road towards the Estancia to restore you and rest. You can hike, ride and participate in the daily tasks of your hosts if you wish. You will be accommodated in full board and will taste local products prepared by your host according to Uruguayan customs.

Day 8

Let's head to the Atlantic Coast

You will drive to the charming village of Punta del Diablo. This delightful fishing village will seduce you with its calm and tranquility. You will be seduced by its sumptuous beaches. Ideal for surf and nature lovers.

Day 9

Visit of Santa Teresa National Park

Let’s discover the National Park of Santa Teresa. With its 3000 hectares, its reserve of native animals, its floral park and its fortress full of history. Enjoy its endless white sand beaches to rest.

Day 10

Cape on Cabo Polonio

The charming Cabo Polonio Ecological Reserve is located on the Atlantic coast of Uruguay, in the Rocha department. This protected peninsula because of its priority ecosystem is one of the largest reserves of sea lions in South America. In addition to its natural wealth, you can enjoy its legendary lighthouse and typical homes. An idyllic setting to relax.

Day 11

On the way to the most chic beaches of the coast

In the morning you could walk and enjoy the charming village of La Pedrera. Then you will drive to Punta Del Este. On your way we advise you to make a stop at José Ignacio. This small fishing village is considered a mini “Saint-Tropez Latino” during the high season.




Finally, you will arrive in Punta del Este. This delightful coastal town will delight both art lovers and surf enthusiasts alike. We offer you a wine tasting accompanied by local products in a typical Bodega near the Laguna del Sauce. La Bodega offers a breathtaking view of the Maldonado region.

Day 12

Walk around Punta del Este

You will go on an excursion to discover the natural and hilly landscapes of the region of Minas. The region is characterized by a landscape of rolling hills, which, with its vegetation, rich flora and fauna provide an idyllic environment to recharge. Do not miss Cerro Artigas, you will find at the top a monument of our Uruguayan horse hero and a panoramic view of the city.

 

We invite you to stop in the pretty seaside resort of Piriápolis. It offers a magnificent waterfront. In summer it is a very popular family seaside resort we invite you to walk along its pretty rambla. If you feel like it, climb to the top of Cerro Antonio and enjoy a superb panoramic view of Piriápolis.

 

In Punta del Este, we recommend a boat trip to Sea Lions Island. This nature reserve has more than 250,000 mammals. If the weather allows it and with the agreement of the captain you can jump off the boat and swim with them sea lions. An unforgettable and safe experience that we recommend for young and old alike.

Day 13

Return to the capital

You will have a day at leisure in Montevideo. We offer the visit of the capital with driver and guide. You will visit the most emblematic places of Montevideo from the Old Town to Carrasco via Pocitos and its marina.

Day 14

Day at leisure in Montevideo

For your last day in Uruguay, you will have complete freedom on your program. You can enjoy this free time to return to the places you preferred, stroll on the rambla or simply enjoy the relaxed atmosphere of the capital from a terrace.

Departure from Montevideo

Depending on your flight schedule, a private driver will pick you up at your hotel and drive you to Montevideo airport.
